When I connect my Yamaha MODX midi out to the midi in of my Roland System 8 and my System 8 midi out to the midi in on my SE02, my SE02 gets weird. If I just control the SE02 with System 8, everything is fine.

Ok if I played one key on my MODX, my SE02's little green led in the filter envelope section comes on and stays on even after I have released the one key on the MODX. Also, the sound of the SE02 seemed to change to a simple square wave tone and the tone doesn't stop until I shut off the SE02. This happens no matter what patch I have selected on the MODX. I realize that performances can send midi data on separate midi channels so I tested this with a few performances that are simple. Like a piano.

FYI the this can occur even if MODX is at the latest OS 2.0 and the SE02 is 1.11.

**Solution**
The MODX has additional MIDI settings that are not under the Audio/MIDI TAB.

Press Utility button on MODX. Press the Advanced Tab. Find the first pull-down that says MIDI I/O and change it from Multi to Single.

Thats it!
