"experimental" alternatives to Arturia Microfreak?

Really like the ability to record modulation and the capacitive touch strip keyboard. Would love recommendations on synths that take this out of the box approach. I was also looking at the Volca Modular. Are there other synths I should consider?

The Microfreak does look good.

Not a touch strip so much as separate touch pads, but the Soma Lyra-8 is definitely "experimental"
