I'm looking to buy a seaboard and I'm unsure about what model I should buy.

I'm mostly thinking of using it for strings and guitars. Would the additional keys make a significant difference in my workflow? Also, how useful are the added controls on the rise series?

Thanks in advance.

The 61-key "grand" version has been discontinued.

Without knowing your total intent--and I presume you don't want to be limited in anyway--I could suggest the Rise 49 will provide sufficient range for all strings and guitars, which have ranges of 30 notes or under (not counting harmonics). Harps would be the worst-case, with these being around 47 strings... which puts you at 49 or so with half-step bends up and down.

As for the added controls, that's up to you. I tend not to use mine, but they're fully configurable, so they can add whatever color or nuance you want to add.

And like Jim said, I don't know how much longer the Grand will enjoy full support since it was discontinued last year.

Thanks for the replies. I got the rise 49 and it seems like it's enough.
