Preamp Bypassing

Is the Audient id22 the only interface in this price range that allows preamp bypassing? Thanks!

There are interfaces with no preamps at all but line inputs only. Also some have mic preamps on the firsr input pair and inputs 3-8 are line only.

I have an Audient ASP 800 - and they mention routing line inputs also through parts of preamp as to get some niceness distortion from that part. Inputs 1-8 have all preamp XLR and also center 1/4" plug for line level.

Anyway, RME have a bunch of interfaces with just line input. Don't have any usb based ones, but think Baby Face Pro has two DI inputs as well apart from preamps.

So not knowing if going for usb only - HDSP AIO is one PCI Express card with just two analog line level in/out. Addon board AI4S with 4 extra inputs also is line level only. On RME you can set if line level is -10dBV or +4dBu. And it has optical ADAT in/out as well to extend later is you feel like it.

Troublefree audio - RME is one way to go.

From the top of my head: ESI Juli@ is a simple PCIe card without preamps and great drivers.

What other requirements do you have?

No, I mean: usb for a laptop or pcie for a desktop system? Do you maybe need headphone outputs? Balanced or unbalanced? And what's the budget?

How about usb for a desktop? Yes, headphone outputs and preamp bypassing, balanced, something low to mid range, thank you.

For now Audient id22 seems to be best deal...
