I prefer the Voyager but others prefer the Model D. The majority of owners seem to think they are worth the money.

if i was starting from scratch, had 4k to spend on synths and was dead set on spending the whole 4k....
matrixbrute 2000
dm12 700
neutron 300
deluge 900
---------------
3900
get a hundred bucks worth of cables.
all analog except for the deluge...but id get that more for sequencing than the synth (though its a very capable synth on its own).
that set up would keep you pretty busy for a while.

Sadly the Korg Prologue have tuning problems, buy only after Korg fix it...borjadja wrote: ↑Mon Dec 03, 2018 7:27 pm Thank you for great answers.
I am not a beginner when it comes to producing / DAW knowledge, and I hold a fair amount of knowledge when it comes to tweaking software synths.
I will consider getting a combination like OB-6, Korg Prologue or Prophet 6, and combine with either of your proposals, or with Moog Grandmother or Moog Sub 37.
It seems like none of you think that the Minimoog Model D is worth the bucks.
Thanks!

Why Buy a Minimoog Model D for $3,500 if you can have the same sound for $330 with the Behringer Model D?

With 4K you buy more interesting things...
So buy the Behringer Model D

I'm going to throw a curve ball at you, borjadja (but it's an honest curve ball - this is precisely the synth that I would buy if someone gave me 4 grand to spend on a new keyboard):

https://waldorfmusic.com/en/specifications-quantum
The oscillators are digital; but the filters are analog - it's a modern-day hybrid (hybrid meant something different back-in-the-day when poly analogs were king) - it's arguably the best of both worlds (digital osc's are rock-solid compared to analog osc's, although we've come a ways since the 80's).

Better interface and built in keyboard leading to better user experience and is likely to last longer.Pictus wrote: ↑Wed Dec 05, 2018 10:29 pm

I usually find it best to get the thing you love instead of getting something else just because it’s cheaper or has more features.

Thanks to everyone for great arguments, this really makes it a lot harder, which is a good thing
Despite great recommendations like the Quantum-synth, which looked sick... I am still a bit in love with the Model-D, although I have decided not to get it for now, maybe in the future.
However, I really like that combination of Sub 37 + Prophet 6.

I believe they sound great. Would it be stupid to choose those synths over your alternatives? The beautiful design of Sub 37 will also make it easier for me to pitch a living room studio to my girlfriend hehe...

Most likely not, unless you maintain it frequently.
