I've been using the Sledge 2.0 now for about 2 weeks and have programmed a good bunch of sounds already.

I noticed that sometimes when saving a sound, it plays back slightly differently than when I was editing it. On rare occasions it is totally different to the sound I just saved.

I haven't nailed down the issue yet and in most cases it seems to work fine, but perhaps it has something to do with the current state of the pots ... etc?

Anyone else having this issue?

To be clear, after editing a sound I save it to a slot, only to find that it sounds different after saving.

Mmh... maybe the notorious Waldorf firmware reputation? :hihi: Well, talking of firmware, do you have the latest installed, if any? I don't own a Sledge, but i guess it's always best to have the latest version.

Yeah mine came with v2.1. I guess this synth just isn't that popular as it is difficult to find resources or groups dedicated to it.

Yeah, i never really saw much of a fuss about it here or elsewhere. A bit surprising, as it's a Waldorf engine and has much hands on controls, which is always nice on hardware. Maybe the problem is that there's "Studiologic" written on it instead of Waldorf, i don't know.

Ok, I nailed down the problem. It's called "idiot user" :)

For $999 this thing was an absolute bargain.

Not an uncommon problem!

New Moog Mother 32 - I thought it was defective not storing sequences.

Turned out they were all there on a different bank. Total operator error.

Haha.

Since I couldn't find any osc-sync patches I thought I'd give it a go. Never owned a synth with osc-sync so I tried it based on what I know and understand about it, but it wasn't very successful.

I have OSC2 syncing to OSC3 and the LFO set to OSC2, and it sort-of works, but the LFO doesn't retrigger on another key press. The LFO appears to be affecting pitch since the sound does change, but there's no indication if it is pitch or amplitude. I just assume it is pitch because I'm getting a sync(ish) sound. The problem is it doesn't have that aggressive sync sound to it, and it fades in-and out - a couple of key presses will result in very faint or "blank" sounds and then the next few will more osc-syncish ... and the cycle repeats.

Anyone seasoned with something like this? Should be the same principles as other synths with osc-sync.

I know, RTFM .. which I haven't opened at all :O. Manual-Schmanual ... until I dunno what I'm doing.

Use Ramp LFO set to rate and amount of your liking.

looks like Studiologic has finally released OS 2.5 to orange sledge owners. they have also released the sledge black sound bank. the OS update says it includes the sample upgrade for free. you can find these at their website.

Gauging by the lack of Sledge comments, I take this synth
was not embraced by many?

Post

A while back I started a "Sledge vs KingKorg" thread which ended up at around 10 pages. Maybe you can find some additional info there. As I remember, we do have a few Sledge owners on KVR and I was extremely close in buying one myself....but then a V-synth came in the way

Those who own it would probably say the exact opposite. There is nothing close in its price range.

So what happend was i turned on the sledge played it for a few went to put in midi to update my sledge and right when i turn it back on it just goes to the init and all ones i tried everything using my laptop but it wont even aend files into sledge but still shows midi is plugged in on ableton and macbook
