I want to understand these and cant find anything using Google. I thought maybe some of the sound designers here might have some clues. I am turning these stones because I am always looking for a new angle. Honestly, I am ONLY interested in the terms given here, and am determined to learn what these effects do. Sadly, the author of HighLife has passed away. Please don't derail the thread. I appreciate it greatly. The best way to start is to watch this video I just posted:

Showing sawtooth and effected sawtooth in wave format and spectrograph:

I got it. I tried again with a sine wave and they all added harmonics. Video shortly. Looking at how it actually removed harmonics with the sawtooth example, it seems it is very dependent on what you feed it . Also, I have no idea what's going on with the phase of added harmonics, and don't plan to investigate. I am saying, maybe it's adding OUT OF PHASE harmonics - that would account for the net loss in the sawtooth example in some instances. I am going forward with this information and just working by ear (I think lol)

I am gonna do at least one more, this time loading a single cycle sine wave, and modifying, listening, and looking at the spectrograph. I might try a couple other waves I have in mind that already have harmonic content.

I realized I can highlight and modify only partial portions of a wave. Here's the wave I put in and then the exported wave after I did some effecting:
