How to make that sound...

I'm looking to cut up a long (20 second) vocal sample according to the transients and then retrigger these randomly at 8ths or 16ths.

So far I've just tried Simpler in Live 9, selecting the transient option and then adding the random device. However, this only allows 24 samples which isn't enough as it then only takes the middle section of the sample.

I have Cubase 10, Live 9 (upgrading isn't an option right now), Tal Sampler, Bliss.

I'm sure there are countless solutions but my brain has suddenly stopped working.

Thoughts?

Here’s my plan:

- Import into Cubase and split by transient
- Export each of the clips as a separate audio file
- Import each clip into Battery
- Apply a MIDI Modifier in Cubase to randomise the note and therefore clip.

Seems rather convoluted though.
