Well...let's just say it's Saws through a Low Pass filter. But without any sound design / synth programming knowledge/experience, this may not help you much.

It actually sounds much like the pad/strings in Alphaville - Forever Young (where, when the filter is opened in the opening seconds, you can here it is filtered Saws).

Maybe this RetroSound tutorial will help you on your way...

Here is a list of the equipment used on FOREVER YOUNG:

Linn LM 1
Roland TR 808
MFB Sequencer
Roland Jupiter 8
PPG Wave 2.3 w/Waveterm
Roland system 100M
Korg MS 20
Korg MS 10
Solina String
Arp Odyssey
Simmons SDS 5 (Curt Cress)

The Oberheim OB-X and SH-7 seen in some contemporary studio pics weren't theirs, they apparently belonged to Chincilla Green, another related band which shared the studio.
Most likely it was a Roland Jupiter 8. But almost any subtractive synth can be used to get a similar pad/strings sound. Then again....the Jupiter 8 is a much sought after legend. Anyway, whatever synth you use, don't expect to get the exact same sound. But hopefully close enough.

One oscillator with maybe 3-5 unison voices detuned slightly. I would keep the detune witching 20 cents and then use the blend control to make the phasing subtle. Then take a standard low pass filter and make sure that keyboard tracking is on. It should be a medium to low amount of resonance and then just tuning the cutoff frequency to where it sounds right. Outside that, you just need to adjust the amplitude envelope so you have a soft attack, a relatively quick decay and an almost full level sustain. That will get you close enough that you should be able to fiddle around and get it just how you want it. Another thing to look at when you are “close, but not quite where you want” is to just slap an EQ on the sound and scoop/boost your way to your desired sound.
Don't F**K with Mr. Zero.
