Love the sound of course but also the whole melody is amazing, is it gliding a lot or? Seems likes it goes octaves up sometimes? Really gives it a lot of life.
The Background pads also sounds reversed or something.

If you use a unison saw. detune is fairly high but just before it starts sounding to detuned
et key tracking all the way up.
Then play a note and with a steep filter set it so you can see 4 to 5 harmonics of the saw (use a frequency analyzer (Voxengo SPAN is FREE))
Then use a flutter type of effect like Izotope vynyl has and set it till you get a nice old school sounding effect.
Use reverb on the sound and play the notes of the song.
