Is the Lead Sound at 3:34 a Synth, a Guitar or a mixture of those two?
How would you recreate it?

My guess is a guitar. Same as in the end of the sound. But specific distortion characteristics can be hard to emulate. And there's a distinct octave up layer. Maybe an effect, maybe a second transposed layer. Don't known how advanced the tech was at the time of Labyrinth (1986). But Bowie never shied away from experiments.

Dan Huff is a prolific session guitarist.

Yeah. Huff has been around forever and played with everyone pretty much. A lot of very commercial oriented pop, MOR, AOR and R&B but I have a number of really great records with Dan Huff on them as a session guy. A rare gem is Janis Ian's record Breaking Silence back in 92. Because of the sparser and more stripped down production, you can really hear how great a player Huff was on it.
