Hello, guys!
Did anyone can help me with recreation this sound? MIDI for this loop. I have spend some time to get the same sound - no result.
I have been tested: hardware Roland tb-03, VST ABL2x, VST VAST ABL3 - ABL2x was wery close to original loop sound.
I can pay 30$ for this job.
Please use any DAW and any VST for this + Roland tb-03 is optional.

Thanks!

I gave it another shot and I like this attempt more.
Attached is the FLP and mp3.

I'm assuming you have FL Studio based on the name of your WAv file but if you need me to send individual presets let me know

Hello! So I decided to post my 303 acid sound design request in this existing thread instead of making a new post (hope the original poster doesn't mind :P)

Are there any talented 303 acid connoisseurs that can accurately recreate this 303 acid sound (and pattern?) using D16 PHOSCYON?

If you can get it to sound spot on, I'm happy to tip you via PayPal :)

i'm huge 303 fan since i watch Blade in 1998 - made few quick 303 agressive variations, but resonance of hp filter add some hiss and need to reduce it.Cheerz :)

I'm pretty sure I have it but I need some sleep.
I'll listen again tomorrow to finish the sound
What DAW do you work with?

Hi Choos, I use both FL and Cubase 10 Pro :)

OK well f**k me I can't get it and it's bugging the life out of me

I'm pretty sure the Midi is right and can recall me getting that exact sound a LONG time ago but not sure which vst and what filter settings and distortion etc.

The 2nd last and 3rd last note have a higher envelope setting than the rest but I just can't get it right.

I can kinda get the first ones right-ish but then the sloping down of the filter on the highes settings sound completely different from the original.

Anyway, give it a shot and let me know if I can help more

That devlish and deceptively simple plastic box......has driven many who attempt to emulate it mad.

It's not just about the shapeshifting waveforms. Or the 24 dB filter. Or even the highpass filter that is placed in the feedback path. It's also about the pattern sequencer with it's accent and slide options. And the (external) distortion(s) used.

Static snapshots of the oscillators don't even resemble a SAW or SQUARE
https://tinyloops.com/tb303/sound_vco.html

The voice structure is quite simple too.
https://tinyloops.com/tb303/sound_signalflow.html

But it really has "that 303 character". Especially at high resonance levels.

Vember Audio - Surge (FREE) can be configured where you can put a High Pass filter in the feedback path (something not many synth can). And with Surge you can shape/create almost any oscillator shape (and modulate it).

But since the thread starter allready has one of the best TB303 emulators around (another being ABL3), it's more about the distortion I guess.

Maybe get some inspiration here...

Your knowledge of this stuff is insane!
I did put an EQ after the synth because you can clearly hear it being high-passed and to make room for that big filtered saw bass.
I was thinking of downloading a 303 EMU but got fed up after a few attempts with sytrus and another synth that I usually get sounds really close with.

At least I think I got the midi right (but who knows)

might try it again in the next few days when I have more time to play around.

Maybe a lot of these trivia should be considered memory pollution.... ;-)

Sadly, knowledge has no value without proper application. I still struggle and learn after all those years. Also, the more you know, the harder it is to consider all options and permutations and reach a conclusion. Also, the more you know, the more you realize there's plenty more you don't know. And there's a major risk of overcomplicating things. Have to remember to keep the goal and Occam's Razor in mind.

I'm just curious and intruiged by sound and synths (and much more...). And old enough to have heard, seen, read and tried (and failed) a lot. Not claiming to be the source of all things true at all. Just a selftaught amateur, sharing and learning.

Dont forget about hardsync sweeps for acid sounds. They emulate resonant screaming filters pretty well if you use correct envelopes.

I use phoscyon for any 303 needs but for fun, i made this with massive in a few minutes (used one of phoscyon sequence), i guess with some polish and more control on res its not too bad.

You can use allpasses, notches and what not. Different filters, different flavours of citrus.

Since tb303 is supposed to be a bass guitar (rofl), you need to create both mute/accent, (easy with parrallel filters and velocity dependant routing). Add linear adsr for vintage touch.
Probably fl patcher would work.
