DAW: Fl Studio

Really Nice and Practical Synth. I programmed most of the stuff here.
I really like the chorus that it has. And the interface is quite simple and intuitive.
However when programming the kick, i noticed a little bug: If i saved after hitting the Play button in my DAW, the volume of the kick had changed with -3 to -7db. Still this, wasn't a big problem, because if i restarted the daw the volume returned to normal.
I stuck mostly with an 80's vibe.

I made it.. I came with main ideas just after the OSC has started. But then I left the project untouched for more than 2 weeks. I almost failed to finish it. Still have objections to some details.. but you know what? deadlines are good. Help to avoid tuning things up endlessly...

I managed to finish something (was a close call). I was bit busy this month but managed to get something done in the last week. No sob stories, but my ears are currently blocked after going swimming during my holiday - so my mix/master may be off, I used Span to help with the balancing. The stereo image might be off too, I can currently hear better out of my left ear and my right ear is quite muffled, so it's hard for me to create a stereo image :D
Note that Leonard gave me a chord progression, and I played around with it for a while and created an arp and other stuff to go with it. Thanks Leonard!

I was having some freezing issues with Qyooo, which made it a little tricky to work with (maybe partly why I only used 10 instances). I did also make some drums sounds earlier in the month which I didn't end up using at all.

Good luck everyone! (Bedtime for me!)

Not to self-handicap, but this one feels a little under-cooked to me. I spent the whole month feeling like it was going somewhere, and end the month feeling as though I'm not sure it got anywhere. The synth definitely grew on me as the month progressed, though. I think the measure of a good OSC for me is that I end the month thinking that I'd really like another month to use to build a song out of all of the sounds I'm just now discovering.

Reaper latest

Qyooo: 18 instances.
No lie, my custom built computer actually died the last night of the comp. I brought it back to life in a couple of hours with no other goal than to finish this track, thus the name.

Qyooo is lovely. it's so bizarre and restrictive that you have to kind of abuse it to make it work for you. For me, this placed me in a retro mindset. I went with 12db or less filter slopes and mono-esque stereo for a little bit of that library music vibe.

Compressors: ModernSeventhSign, Gcomp, CamelCrusher
Delay: Cocoa Delay, Bionic Delay (on both delays I disabled filtering, verb and modulation)
Reverb: epicVerb
EQ: Apple 12-Pole Filter (Reaper), Luftikus, Soneq'
Saturation: Emissary, CamelCrusher, IVGI2

I'm honestly surprised that I ended up with epicVerb as the only verb - this is very not like me. Usually I go with three or so, and I really tried to work the new TAL reverb 4 in there, but it didn't happen. epicVerb is so versatile and really nailed that 60s-70s plate.
I probably could have simply used one delay - I think one of them didn't do triplet delays correctly so I brought the other in. IVGI and Emissary helped emulate the recording techniques of the era, direct line with a tiny bit of distortion.

Buongiorno or Buona Sera wherever you are!

May be random to say but I think the qyooo would also be a great as an effect plugin or sampler based instrument. It be nice to use the filter combinations in an effect plugin for example - for ease of parallel filtering.

Good luck, everyone! :tu:

 Well that's great. My track rendered with one instrument group muted through 2/3rds of the track.

Guess I should listen ALL the way through the export next time.

But Jas, we all know that "less is more" hahahaha! :D

Wow...that is almost amazing, J! That exact thing happened to me last week, when I first posted my little violin experiment. I caught it in the same evening and posted it again and it wouldn't have mattered anyway, but that hardly ever happens to me. And now to you, too? :scared: ...coincidence? I think NOT! :ud:

Amazing, I think. And I would literally vote "Yay" to letting you upload it again!
