Yes, that will certainly be an important reason why people see new plugins as just another plugin.
Maybe plugin devs should start using quota like they do in the petrol industry?
Better? Depends how you look at it.DavidCarlyon wrote: ↑Tue Apr 09, 2019 1:45 pmThis is maybe why smaller devs seem to be doing better - less overheads and people to pay.

In my experience these one dev companies are not very good at communication, support or business decisions. Software becomes abandonware, communication is sometimes really bad (coders are not good at communication). Development or bug fixes can also stall because one person has to do everything. Sometimes a certain aspect might be of less quality (like the UI) but then the reply is often "with what money do you think I can afford a designer?".
Typical problems you get when one man has to do everything as one man cannot be a good developer, good designer, good communication guy, businessman, support guy etc. In a bigger company these are all specialist jobs (in house or via external consultancy).
Bigger companies can build activa to overcome difficult years and have enough resources so they can keep all aspects (development, design, communication, support) on a good level. Of course you need to get at that level.
Anyway, I had some lesser experiences with one dev projects lately and am going to think twice before buying from them. Might be that other people will also come to that conclusion.
Not as a general rule (I might also explicitly buy from them to explicitly support them - starving artist etc) but keeping in mind future problems that might arise as abandonware, slow development, bad communication etc.
