Kontak 6 Player... will not install. I've tried everything. Native Access shows it installed but not seen by Studio One 4.1.2 or the latest Reaper.

I'm using Windows 10 Pro, Intel i7, Steinberg UR22 audio i/f, 8gig memory, 1Tb HDD... no problems with other software.

Any ideas before I call NI tech support.

Check/reset your blacklists (rescan plugs).

S1 also has a little wrench at the top of the browser window which can allow you to hide plugs.

Thanks for your help.

The plug does not get blacklisted. Rescanned a number of times. Perhaps the installer stashed it in some
goofy folder. Stand-alone installs and runs, ??? Plug is not hidden.

Have you run it standalone first?

Post

Did you reset your plugin cache in Reaper? I was wondering if Kontakt 6 Player was even worth downloading considering I rarely open 5 anyway.

Post

Check Native Access preferences to see what's the VST install folder there.

Jan - Yes... Standalone runs perfectly.

I'll try that Porn - it took a while but that did the trick. It picked up Kontakt 6 and Eventide Instant Phaser MK II that has also gone MIA with Studio one. Now if I can figure out how to effect the same proces in Studio One, I'd probably find the missing plugs.

EvilD - When I navigate to the folders using preferences in Native Access, the folders are empty ?????

Seriously, empty? They shouldn't be. Browse to your VST path(s) there, then reinstall.

I deleted Kontakt 5 from the windows apps menu. Maybe that messed NA up ??

I've got screen shots but I forget how to post.

I found some NI plugs that weren't being scanned... Phasis and Kontakt 6.

They were in c:\program files\native instruments\64bitVSTs

There you go. Feel free to move them to your usual VST folder, and change NA's VST path to match it.

Good advice EvilD - many thanks for your help and all the other times you've prompted me to look in the right direction.

I never even noticed that NA had a preferences section.

I recently installed Kontakt player 6 and Sampletank 3 to use in Reaper. No problems with Sampletank 3, but with Kontakt when I load a drum kit it plays on all channels making it unusable. I've gone over and over the routing but nothing looks wrong....any ideas before I smash it with a hammer?

I assume you're talking about Kontakt Factory Selection library?

First, in instrument header, you will see a camera icon and (i) icon. If camera icon is focused, go to (i) icon and change MIDI input from omni to whatever MIDI channel you want.

rivrock - seems that ni softstuff has been getting flaky lately.
