Here's my entry for this month -
https://soundcloud.com/richard-semper/r ... t-colonies
In this, the eighth part of Lost in the Jungle, our explorers encounter colonies of de-extinct species; survivors from man's attempts, using genetic engineering, to undo the damage of mass extinctions which he caused.
No of instances of MOK Waverazor - 17 - All Patches designed from scratch.
DAW - MuLab
DAW Fx Used -
Multiband Stereo Tool - using HP filter, Audio Inverter, Mono2Stereo and Stereo Splitter
Compressor with sidechain (for Low Frequencies only)
EQ on 4 channels, 2x MuEcho, 2x Limiter, 1x highpass Filter, 1x lowpass-filter
(Note- Extensively used chorus and delays built into the synth; the above were just to help the mix.)
3rd Party Fx:- 3x Tal Reverb-4, Analyser: Voxengo SPAN
DR= 9
If anyone is interested I can supply the mulab project file.
I will do a bit more work on patches I have created and and a link when done.

Hi,
Here's my track for the Waverazor challenge.
https://soundcloud.com/quaoar-1/horizons-quaoar
DAW: Ableton
15 x Waverazor
FX's used:
Autofilter (for the hats)
Reverb
Delay
EQ8
It's supposed to sound like a dystopion soundtrack for which imo Waverazor
is perfect.
Hope you like it!

Here's my WaveRazor entry.
39 instances in Logic Pro X. Logic EQ, reverbs, compressors. Nova on a few tracks, OTT on kick only, Limiter No6 on master..
https://soundcloud.com/ontrackp/going-going-gone
This was an interesting challenge. More so than most of the OSC synths, WaveRazor had a fairly steep learning curve -- or not so much a learning curve as just understanding how it's structured and figuring out how to work around the extremely complex and often confusing interface. There are really interesting sound possibilities with this. Slicing waves up is cool, but often musically useless. The modulation possibilities are astounding, the signal routing makes sense but is presented in a kind of counter-intuitive manner. All that being said, I understand that it is a challenge for the developers to present 700 adjustable parameters per oscillator. My suggestion is to hide most of them.
This piece kind of reflects my experience with the synth -- starts pretty conventional and gets progressively more interesting as I learned my way around WR, ending in a fairly chaotic manner that I think is reflective of what WR can do.
Bottom line -- WR has the potential to be a great synth -- needs a lot of help on interface, envelopes and filters need tweaks, controls in general need tweaking (useful range for many controls is limited to about the first 5% of the throw of the knob).
Despite the frustrations, this turned out to be fun.

A more intuitive way to patch things would be good too given there are so many routing options.
I am reminded of the "good old days" of the VCS3, Synthi-A and Synthi 100 where you had a patch matrix and used pins to make the route (most had a 4.7k resistor in them too!). Such a device could be a complete page on its own and so would not need to compete with the screen real estate. But you would be able to see at a glance what's connected to what! No need for various pull down/popup menus or messy cables! Even something basic like the Reaper routing matrix would be quite a good start.
Just a thought.

Here is my submission. My second attempt actually- my first first effort, which was pretty far along, crashed never to re-open. Props to those who actually figured out this synth, I certainly didn't.

Ok, so, here is my entry :
https://soundcloud.com/jruegg/jruegg-nothing-special
Waverazor was a complez synth, and I barely scratched the surface (I don't want to get deep tho ).
Mostly one oscillator per patch used, with only one wave, and mostly just one filter used, or the filterblock with some shaper/filter/shaper to get some roughness (worked good on drums).
Modulations keept to the minimum, just one or two envelopes controlling filter etc...
All sounds designed by me from init
DAW : Ableton live 10
Waverazor instances : ~40
InternalFXS:
Reverb
Utility
Multiband dynamics
Eq8
Limiter
Glue compressor
External VSTs :
TDR nova
Polyverse wider

Damn January and it's 31 days....would have made some final touches but probably doesn't matter much. Last render:
https://soundcloud.com/hennessey/bh9090 ... redodifkik
35 instances in Live 10 with Compressors, Delays, EQ8, Reverb, Saturator, Limiter, AutoPan, AutoFilter.
3rd Party: Tal-Reverb 4, Dragonfly Reverb
EDIT: Thanks to Richard Semper reminding me of the set your computer clock back trick. I replaced the file. So try that if your demo expired!!!!
