It was the UK guys. I tried to contact them around 2012 or so. Can't remember the exact details. At that time it did't seem alive.ChamomileShark wrote: ↑Mon Dec 10, 2018 1:49 pm Urs, who are you trying to contact? If it's Rehberg then I don't know.
EMS UK is still going and making Synthis, at least VCS3s.

It may have been the old e-mail. Production of the VCS3 restarted somewhere around 2013 I think. I got mine in 2015.

Wasnt there like a huge waitinglist for new VCS3s, like several years or something?
I think i had read something like that when i sourced the tech docs of the real VCS3 to see whether the XILS-lab emulation is true to the real machine.
(Which unfortunately it isnt.)
To me it sounded like they were still in business but producing slooowly and only on request...

ok, here's what happened to the best of my knowledge.
For many years EMS would repair or refurbish old broken machines. Then when the refurbished supply dried up Robin said he would make more Synthi As and VCS3s. But EMS had a contract for soundbeams which is used for schools for disabled kiddies etc.
When I went on the list in 2005 the plan was to start building synthis in a few months.
However the soundbeam contract went on, there was some redesign or something and that delayed production of the new Synthis.
Eventually production restarted, first Synthi As and then the VCS3. As far as I know it's still ongoing, there is still a list..

I still have an original Soundbeam! Would it help to sell it and get them building VCS3 again?

I used to use soundbeam in dance/music based sessions with kids and adults with learning disabilities

Would I get enough for a Soundbeam to buy a virtual VCS3 then?
