Didn't Onyx write a song called "Woooosh, there it goes"?

can someone tell me how to install the latest version alongside the original commercial version? In FLstudio I only ever get the original when I open an instrument

Hosts can be wierd - reaper has a problem with dll names and o think fl might also. I suspect surge.dll is getting read once
So try and install the beta as surge-beta.dll (like rename the file) and rescan
I don’t have 152 so this is a somewhat educated guess not a definitive answer

thanks, I had thought of that but not actually tried it. I'll give it a gobaconpaul wrote: ↑Fri Apr 05, 2019 10:13 pmHosts can be wierd - reaper has a problem with dll names and o think fl might also. I suspect surge.dll is getting read once

Yes, that worked. The main reason I want to use the new version is the resizable GUI. The trouble is now that FLStudio doesn't resize the window to accomodate a larger version when you zoom

So FLStudio 20 resized with the VST3 for me. Lots of people report that the VST2 and FL versions earlier than 20 don’t resize properly. Did you pick the VST3 as your version to rename and are you on FL20?
Seems FLStudio, CakeWalk and Traktion interact with the UI in ways which don’t zoom very well; and EnergyXT doesn’t show it at all. Alas, none of us developing on surge are windows-first folks (I’m mac first as are a few others; couple of the other devs are linux-first) so these things are tricky to debug.

Hey I didn't try Vst3, but I will. Thanks for the heads up. I wasn't criticising the developers, I know resizing GUIs can be erratic

Hi,
do I see right, that the envelopes are always starting at zero?
I tried to get some moog'ish behaviour by setting the env type to Analog and poly mode to MONO-ST without success.
Comparision with synth1 (legato mode). Non-overlapping note change:

Another problem I see with the envelope is, that if I modulate the sustain level, I cannot get the value up again after it fell down, but I can lower it if it was up in the beginning. That behaviour has its own beauty, but I'd rather have complete control...(Important for expressive controllers like the LinnStrument)

Anyone tried to use Surge vocoder in Reaper?
I found problems to route it. If I route modulation sound to channels 1 and 2 (common stereo input), then I get both sounds: modulation and vocoded from output of a Surge track.
I managed to set Surge output to channel 3 and 4, and then route those channels to another track in pre-fader mode. This way, I can get rid of modulation sound by setting Surge track volume to minus infinity, being still able to control vocoded sound in additional track.
But it seems to me unnecessarily complicated. There must be easier way.

I added envelope legato as an issue: https://github.com/surge-synthesizer/surge/issues/824
I added sustain swell as an issue: https://github.com/surge-synthesizer/surge/issues/825
To import user wavetables, you drop the .wt file in your surge folder (~/Documents/Surge on mac and similar places other OS) and then restart your plugin and your wavetable will show up in a third section of the drop down. If you are on windows you can also drag and drop the .wt file onto the oscillator area I think (but that code has had some problems since we upgraded VSTGUI and is not something I've tested on windows in forever).
