Thanks William. Was reading thru some of the posts and hope you didn’t get offended by me calling the EVE presets “lo fi”. Was meant to be a compliment about a significant library of fine presets and multis from a critical era that is about to get lost otherwise. Don’t know if you inherited them or wrote them, but some worthy artistic statements.

Interesting encounter this last weekend when was called in to lay down some guitar tracks for a young keyboard player and his band. No money, but all the beer I could drink. The guy is an excellent jazz, new age pianist and trying to lay down a string track 5 out of 6. Every conceivable synth that money can buy.

He settled on Kontakt pro session strings something.
Problem is the synth sounded so incredible in isolation, but either underpowered or overpowered the mix. Back to what we called “midi soup” long time ago. Every instrument trying to be pristine 10 to 40k response. Ear and brain burned out unable to separate anything.

Suggested to try a mellotron. Was laughed at for suggesting something so old school. Worse for me, asked him if he’d ever heard the Moody Blues, and never heard of them. Left the session feeling older than I am…

To humor me, they let me fire up the midi track with EVE 3. Used I think the Tron Watcher and the Tron mk11 vintage, panned to give more depth. The sound cut through the mix, and the guy said “Gives me chills”. Kontakt was dumped and EVE goes forward in their production.

Also, playing with the new vst support, and the blind eye for instrument versus effect. Had to break and walk around the block taking in some of the unique sound options available with EVE 5. Hope others can dig deep and chime in. Masterpiece in the making.

Oh, no, you didn't offend me, I didn't see like that. EVE is all about "retro", so it's good. And your history is great! :hyper: I'm 44 so I feel you. :hihi:

I just tried Vallhala reverb and indeed the interface won't let me click on the menu options. But it's nothing I can think about right now. Looks like is something on their end, but who knows. I will check out some more, just in case... funny is that they use the JUCE Framework just like I do. ;-)

I just tried on Wusik P2000 and it works correctly there, so I will check the differences in code and try to fix the code I use on the synths versus that other one.

Just a comment on a neat effect with the vst settings.

Loading a vsti synth instead of a vst effect allows the synth to operate independent of the envelopes for the soundsets. Can for instance load a piano on top of a set of swelling strings. Getting some really amazing sounds.

Yeah, it does that too. I even included the MDA Synths in the package too. ;-)

I also need to think on the default sounds that comes with the product, I'm thinking on the same collection as Wusik One.

6 Gig of great sounds. I will check this selection and see if it's a good start or not. Of course you can always use the sounds from Wusik Station V9 and Wusik 8008, but I need to select at least a portion of the collection to start working on presets. The last thing is to see how I can handle older presets importing, as the engine is totally different... Eekkk....
