No time or money for obsessions these days...
just trying to get getting better perspectives than the Muse
or the mirror provide, lying devils half the time,
and sound asleep the rest of the time ,
...well, I did score an Mbira library tonight,
getting one of those on sale was kinda a gear aquisition
obsession, but she doesn't know about those
deep inner secrets yet

EDIT: the music file attached is now named with
an .mp3 extension, and followed by .zip
but it is NOT a zip archive, so rename it without the .zip.
Apparently the archiver I was using was padding the music at the beginning, for some kind of bytes fit? So what I thought was a loopable sound, had 1/3 of a second of silence added
at the start, and if someone did a copy/paste operation
to make a longer version, the seemless transition would have
and a dandy gap
end EDIT
Attached a loop of Fathom and Kontakt, playing together in a distant land.
In a foreign OS, on a beach without windows, just palm trees and sand
Happy 2020!

It is an mp3. I just added the mp3 extension and it worked fine.FathomSynth wrote: ↑Sat Jan 11, 2020 1:18 am I unzipped that file but it has no extension is it suppose to be an mp3 or wav?

I've tried it by adding both extensions one after the other. Result : it is an MP3 file.
So it should be named FathomTravels.mp3
Its duration is 54 seconds (it seems that the track is not recorded until its end).
It is a kind of neo-arabic style, reminding the Ud with synths noises in background. Quite beautiful.

Hi BlackWinny, may your truffles be round, and myriad!
First off, your comment led me to investigate the attached file,
it was 'loopable' when it slid down the cat5 here.
But it turns out the archiver I used padded about 1/3 second
of silence to the start of the music
So much for 'loopable' if someone did a copy/paste operation to make a longer version, the seemless transition would have and a dandy gap
Reproducable in a test. And just as stupid the second time.
I just replaced the attachement, the music file now is named with the .mp3 extension, and followed by .zip
BUTTT ...it is NOT a zip archive, so rename it without the .zip,
if so inclined, and make a longer version in case Wilbur
comes down from Mont Blanc with his banjo, and wants
to jam for a while. Or stress your wine cellar etc
Cheers
Sorry for the clutter, Captain, will swab the deck
before the next watch!

@kvr beancounters: Is the foremost musicians website in all
of New Zealand so cash strapped, that music attachments are limited to 51 seconds of 128 kbit mp3?
Enjoy your wallaby stew.

There is no mechanism for transferring a license.

It’s pretty much unusable on my mac, it brings it to its knees, so I just don’t use it anymore.FathomSynth wrote: ↑Wed Jan 15, 2020 6:25 pm Intel AVX Parallel Processing is coming out shortly along with the Metamorphic Oscillator.
It will be the most advanced oscillator ever created in a software synth.
Shortly after that we will be doing Video Card GPU processing and the full Sampler.
So this would probably not be a good time to stop using Fathom!
Why do you want a license transfer?
I’ve kept buying the updates in the hope this changes but as it stands, it’s still too much for my mac to handle.

Intel AVX Parallel Processing is coming out shortly along with the Metamorphic Oscillator.
It will be the most advanced oscillator ever created in a software synth.
Shortly after that we will be doing Video Card GPU processing, the Sampler, Fathom FX
and the open GUI with User Skins.
So this would probably not be a good time to stop using Fathom.
Also, there's a section in the manual on CPU efficiency?

Reads like a pretty passive aggressive response mate. I’ve payed you since the get go!FathomSynth wrote: ↑Wed Jan 15, 2020 6:34 pm Intel AVX Parallel Processing is coming out shortly along with the Metamorphic Oscillator.

In addition this is a critical year for Fathom so anyone looking to use it who would prefer someone else's license instead of just going ahead and buying it for $45.00 is essentially voting not to pay for anymore full time development. Is that really what we want? I was sort of running on the assumption that the new features we had planned were wanted by everyone?
There's a whole section in the manual on CPU efficiency, did you read that?
