Hanz Meyzer wrote: Thu Apr 11, 2019 5:50 pm Those crackles won't go away if you closed the GUI, I would say it's caused by the OSCs at voice initalization. Then there is a spike, and this spike will sum up with lot of voices, after initilization of the OSCs, the crackling usually goes away, playing all voices without crackling, so it happens mostly at sound start.
As far as I can recall some of avengers core sound processes where reliant on the GPU in the beginning stages of the development and thats why Avenger gave an inmpression that it was "light" on cpu.. that is difficult for me to assess though cause my i7 cpu uses the imbeded onboard intel video card which is powerd by my cpu anyway
I use the intel onboard graphic with DVI. the crackle happen when i close edit window too. crackle is sync to arp step. maybe other can do test as see in youtube video i upload in some posts ago ?

If avenger use GPU to render audio, i can try disable that. is that possible ?

My CPU is 1 year ago released from intel 8600k and it is fast. the crackle on arp step i get with cubase, reaper and mixcraft same. other synths have not such problems.
Could be over asio?
That's still a big problem over asio with latency and cracks.
Wasapi no problems.
I hope this gets fixed for once guys. It's important!
when use wasapi shared no crackle, but reaper write on right side 39 ms latency. if i set buffer to 128 or 512. seem wasapi add additional latency. I also notice a delay in realtime play with wasapi shared. i can set wasapi to exclusive mode then reaper show 5.5 ms latency with 132 sample buffer.( i choose 128). other synths play good, but with avenger after some play of SQ hardrocker, all crackle even more. sometimes work 10 sometimes 20 sec. after that come always crackle

You guys need to check if your PSU is sufficient to supply enough wattage to run your computers. First of all, change the energy saving theme in Windows to high efficiency or whatever that's called. If that don't fix the problem, upgrade the PSU. We musicians like to connect a lot of USB devices (interfaces, MIDI keyboards, perhaps some other outboard gear), like to have a good gfx card for gaming and all of those devices suck power. I was getting a lot of crackles from my audio interface (Tascam US 22) just by moving my mouse cursor around until I upgraded to 900W PSU.
I doubt its a power supply issue, since it only happens when Avenger is open. Some of my projects have 10 instances of Omnisphere with each having huge Multi's open, Virus Ti, Analog Rytm MK II with Overbridge running, Push II, Akai Advance 61 and everything is tip top. Turn all peripherals off and open one blank project, add Avenger and get crackles. Definitely not a power issue.

To all that hear crackle in avenger. please try to disable all arp(switch off in the arp tab) and hear if you get still crackle. My problem is in fact a problem that only happen when the arps are enable. when i disable then aveneger never crackle. When other confirm that on their system it is too the arp, can help the developer to find the problem more easy

here is a sneak preview for the upcoming "Atmospherica" Expansion. A teamwork between me and Andy Hinz in the last couple of months. I think its one of our best works so far! We did an extra long 20min (!) audio demo, and even then we only could show 25% of the entire XP. Take your time to listen through, dont fast forward. ALL MADE WITH PURE GRANULAR SYNTHESIS. Enjoy! In several hours I will remove the link. The XP is finished and in the pipeline for release, but there are other XPs to be released before. Maybe June... https://soundcloud.com/vengeancesound/v ... ca/s-mAXXd

PS: Whats your favourite Part? Feedback appreciated.

This and Big Tone 2 do both sound very good Manuel. These both feel the strongest factory Avenger XPs I've heard I think.

I'll confess I'm no expert on what Big Tone actually is (haven't got the faintest clue in truth) but the Big Tone 2 expansion is great. It feels about 50/50 not-too-annoying-trance-ish EDM, and other electronica. There's a good dozen patches in there that actually reminded me more of Jean Michel Jarre than anything else, with lovely macros mapped to do the wibbly stuff. Some very useable and adaptable patches, especially the bells and the atmospheres.

Mildly surprised to find way more than half seem to use the ARP, all the bass sounds for example are arp basses. But since it's just a case of pressing the Arp on/off to turn it off, I figured no harm done.

IIRC he's a sound designer who already made sounds for Nexus and other synths. His packs always are distinguishable and top notch.
