angelina sounds like garbage. it sounded good 6 years ago. if you want good (synthetic) choirs. your going to have to pay. however if you want some ok synthetic choirs, both synth1, and oatmeal are a viaable option. if your looking at "real" sounding choirs, your screwed. again though. if you want a ptetty crappy alternative, theres the papal soundfonts.nix808 wrote:Maybe have a look at Big Tick Angelina.

Hi
If you want fully synthesized choirs then have a poke at HelioVox in SynthStudio Pack II

For monklikes ones I use Magnus Choir.
For really extreme customizable ones, nothing can really beat Vocaloid (at least ahhs and ohhs can sound natural ).
Both are not free...

For sound fonts, yes, I'm sure. For sample based, EWQL Symphoic Choirs ROCKS. Small piece I did based off of the demostration videos that EW did on their site to at least prove to me how smooth it was.chicken muffin wrote:if your looking at "real" sounding choirs, your screwed.

It sings "In the realm of Mordor" over and over again. One pass playing the keys, one pass with the mod wheel to get the dynamics added.

its not that. its that the poster is very new on the block and there's a good chance he hasn't yet "seen the light" if you know what i mean... so i was only referring to freeware. with payware theirs tons of options. but i don't make commercial software suggestions unless i know somebody has an established reputationDevonB wrote:For sound fonts, yes, I'm sure. The OP is asking for "oohs and aahs" in the subject title, which doesn't exactly suggest he needs a $500 library recorded in a monastery.
I'd start with the soundfonts given in the links provided.
Or maybe something like these:
http://www.splurgo.com/Background-Vocals-p-1-c-310.html
Next step up are the rompler-level libraries. Here's one:
http://www.digitalsoundfactory.com/digi ... cts_id/273
Let us know if these don't fit the bill -- or at least, give a better description of what you're looking for.

I really recommend Vox'd (based on the Wusik engine) by BITR.
Rules for highly tweakable choirs.
