PlugInGuru releases MegaMagic: Guitars - Part 1 - Seven multisampled guitars for Omnisphere 2
PlugInguru has released MegaMagic: Guitars - Part 1 which consists of 7 multisampled guitars mapped as Multis in Omnisphere 2.1. There is one 12-string, 3 steel string, 2 nylon and electric Sitar which each have all 6 open strings sampled, are heavily programmed (filter and envelope interaction via Velocity) and are, according to PlugInGuru, "the most expressive new guitars available for Omnisphere 2 to date".
These 7 guitars have been put through 2 different effect chains (known as MM1 for MegaMagic 1 effect chain and MM2 for MegaMagic 2 effect chain) to create both a lush reverb (MM1) and a colder reverb with octave shimmering that was automated during the recording process for a organic swell that fades in and then goes away.
The "Magic" of the library is having these 2 effect chains recorded into the samples. The reverb is over 10 seconds long (normally if you play anything into a 10 second reverb it becomes mush very quickly). By recording the reverb processing into a sample, there is no more interaction with the reverb when you play new notes - it doesn't get muddy, now it becomes "magical".
This is the 4th library John Lehmkuhl (PlugInGuru owner/sound designer) has created with this concept. It make for a unique signature sound that fits into your mix while being fun to play.
The library sells for $35 and can be purchased for direct digital download here.
