KV331 Audio

KV331 Audio has released SynthMaster Player and SynthMaster Player Free for Windows and Mac OS X platforms.

SynthMaster Player is a simplified version of SynthMaster targeted at musicians who use presets rather than create their own during music production.

Specifications of SynthMaster Player are:

  • Available in VST, AU and RTAS formats (AAX support coming up shortly).
  • Comes with 600 presets selected from SynthMaster's factory library.
  • Users can edit 12 easy parameters assigned by the sound designer for each preset.
  • Users can turn on & off effects assigned by the sound designer for each preset.
  • Users can purchase and use preset banks released by KV331 Audio.

There is also a free version of SynthMaster Player, which comes with 150 presets selected from SynthMaster's factory library. The free player is available for download at the below links:

SynthMaster Player is available for purchase at KV331 Audio's web site at the introductory price of $19 ($29 after April 1st).

I'm sold. A lot of slow ambient stuff, dubstep sounding stuff, arpeggiators, and a few sound effect-type sounds, which are fine, but I would not use that much. But there are also a lot of good synth sounds, some cool organs (from rock to cathedral) and an electric piano that I swear sounds just like my Rhodes 88 "suitcase" (which is still in the garage). Think I'll shell out the bargain price for some more sounds. Seems really stable too. A very few of the sounds don't have much output, though. You'll have to edit the permissions on the Synthmaster Player notepad file if you don't want to keep all the files in the VST folder.
