IK Multimedia has announced that SampleTank for iPhone, iPod touch and iPad has been updated to version 1.5 and is now Audiobus compatible. This means you can launch SampleTank from inside the Audiobus app (a third-party app that requires separate purchase), and send its output through other audio apps, like AmpliTube, GarageBand, and many others, to be filtered, recorded, looped, and more.
IK also added full support for background audio, which means SampleTank can now play in the background when other audio apps are playing in the foreground. That means you can now layer SampleTank's output with that of other audio apps, giving you even more creative options.
This Audiobus and background audio support is included in all versions and levels of SampleTank version 1.5; including SampleTank and SampleTank free for iPhone/iPod touch; and the full and free versions of SampleTank for iPad.
To enable this new Audiobus feature and use SampleTank with other compatible Audiobus apps, users must install the Audiobus app (which must be purchased separately on the App Store) on their iPhone, iPad, or iPod touch.
Pricing and Availability
SampleTank with the new Audiobus feature is a free upgrade for existing SampleTank owners. Audiobus sells separately on the App Store for only $9.99. For new users the full version of SampleTank is available for $19.99 from the App Store. A free version is also available for both iPhone and iPad.
