UVI dev team sacks marketing department, unofficially releases free game Spark Invaders

1st April 2016

UVI dev team sacks marketing department, creates new entertainment division 'ULTRA UVI PRO', unofficially releases free game Spark Invaders, claims to provide "the future of gaming, literally".

Riding on the heels of their critically acclaimed breakthrough video game soundbank 'PiNG', the development team at UVI usurped control of the Paris-based company sacking all marketing and management personnel and redirecting all funds into a new entertainment division branded 'ULTRA UVI PRO'. This new division will focus on the growing DAW-centric gaming community leveraging their high-powered computer workstations for what insiders describe as "the future of gaming, literally." A marketing research paper published within the company earlier in the year revealed that a majority of producers and musicians exhibit extraordinarily dexterous fingers due to high-frequency use of complex computer hotkeys and above average reaction times as a result of mitigating "an abnormal amount of dialogue boxes." As ULTRA UVI PRO's newly appointed CTO Ivana Räwk explains,"These facilities naturally lend themselves to video game mechanics. Combine that with typically excellent sound systems, wall-mounted LED panels and unusually comfy chairs, I may not be a rocket surgeon but there's clearly a huge market waiting to explode here."

ULTRA UVI PRO's debut title 'Spark Invaders' has been released without an official announcement. Unofficial sources report that Spark Invaders provides "the 'real' next-gen gaming experience" utilizing "advanced technological advances, made by 'certified' geniuses" and creates "a deeply satisfying full-dive VR environment without the use of any VR technology whatsoever thanks to really, really great reverb." Spark Invader's lead designer Mike Cheq reports on the concept "we looked at what other triple-A releases were doing and decided it was all wrong, high frame-rates and 3d mumbo-jumbo... People don't really want that, what they want is intergalactic, planetary. They want to go to another dimension." Citing the use of their SparkVerb reverb algorithms Mike continues,"With Spark Invaders even people who don't know the difference between a swish and a whistler can make great sounding music. It's what we industry pros like to call a 'game changer'."

For the moment it appears that Spark Invaders is real, and available as a free download on uvi.net, but we can't be totally sure...

Availability: reportedly Spark Invaders is now available at uvi.net and is a free download.
