Solcito Musica updates Arido virtual additive synthesizer to v3.1

Solcito Musica has updated Arido, its virtual additive synthesizer for Windows, to v3.1, which brings improvements, new features, redesigned modules and more friendly user interface.

The standalone version is for free. The VSTi version costs $12.00. For owners of Arido 2.1 VSTi the price is $8.00.

New features:

• Oscillator 1:
  • Added a content selector of several sets of frequencies for harmonics, including a set of typical drawbar organ frequencies.
  • Added a preset selector of sets of harmonic amplitudes with capacity to recover original presets.
  • Added a preset selector for the selectors of envelopes for harmonics with capacity to recover original presets.
  • Improved mouse control sensitivity in harmonic sliders in OSC1.
  • The knob "manual" of tuning with range of half a semitone up and down was replaced by a transposition selector "transpo" with range of 1 octave up and down in steps of 1 semitone.
• Oscillator 2:
  • The knob "manual" of tuning with range of half a semitone up and down was replaced by a transposition selector "transpo" with range of 1 octave up and down in steps of 1 semitone.
• Routing Module:
  • Less knobs (before 5, now 3).
  • Changed the appearance of the knobs to make more routing friendly.
  • Changed the mouse control way for knobs.
  • Improved the responses of knobs.
  • The representation of the modules indicate their "on/off" state and those can be turned on/off from the routing panel as well as from the buttons on their own modules.
• LFO:
  • Extension of the range of rate in local mode.
  • Added random pulse wave.
  • Now the LFO has its own envelope, with selection of several curves.
  • Persistence of the modulation of the LFO to Env3 was solved when the LFO was in Off.
• Noise module:
  • Added a volume control.
  • Improved the internal gain control/mix curve.
• Effects module:
  • The local system of presets was redesigned. Now the user effect presets are saved in the Main preset manager of the synth only.
  • Increased the transition speed response of the pedal.
  • Added a led that shows the state of the pedal.
• Driver module:
  • Added the "drive" knob.
  • Modified "In filt" function. Now this knob allows to tweak two filters: a low pass filter and a band pass filter.
  • Now the Driver module makes bypass when it is turned off.
• MIDI:
  • Changed the names and extension in files for MIDI learn, copying and restoration of presets.
  • Now the MIDI LEARN button initiates in "MIDI On" state.
• Improved mouse control sensitivity in:
  • All selectors of 3 positions.
  • ADSR knobs of Envelope modules.
  • Reso and cut knobs of Filter module.
• Main Module Preset Manager:
  • The change of presets through keys "+" and "-" of the PC was eliminated.
  • The total number of presets no longer appears.
  • Now can be loaded up to 120 presets (before 48).
• Other:
  • Corrected several help text and added new ones.
  • Changed some colors of the panel and the keyboard.
  • Changed the location of Routing and Effects modules.

Presets from earlier versions can be loaded but are not 100% compatible.
