Sound Dust releases Modular Chaos Engine #1 and #2 plus a new free Tiny Chaos Engine - all for Kontakt

11th July 2014

Sound Dust has released a new range of Kontakt rhythm engine instruments for composers, pop experimentalists and lovers of funny noises.

Modular Chaos Engine #1 - Found is a chaotic drum machine made entirely from 785 natural organic, binaurally recorded "found" sounds collected from a wide variety of sources all over the world.

Modular Chaos Engine #2 -Evolved uses 1106 samples wrought from a snarling DSi Evolver hybrid analog synth.

Both instruments use the same sophisticated 12 x 12 track, key triggered, sequencing engine which offers control over sound selection, accent, decay, pan and tuning per note. Plus there is instant sound randomisation with the Chaos control function and sequence FSU-ing with the Chaos looper.

These instruments are great on their own but also play happily together for more diverse possibilities and can veer from a Tom Waits does Hip Hop wonkiness to NiN style industrial abstraction. Great for film composers looking for new ways of creating throbby tension and anyone looking for a new way of making surprising beats.

Pricing & Availability

Available for the full version of Kontakt 4 and above for £20 each or £35 for #1 + #2.

Also available are the Tiny Chaos Engine free versions which have less sounds and a locked sequencing engine but still have a healthy amount of creative possibilities:
