It's incredible how much the timbre can change when two or more notes combine. I sometimes purposely detune things to make them clash but I've never done so in a structured way. This is really beautiful. I love how the rhythms shift and the variation in dynamics work very well.

Thanks - yeah the idea was basically to create a musical smear :) Actually I keep trying to get even more smeary. Piantoteq has some great tools for doing this, not just the microtonality but also things like the mallet bounce which can be modulated by velocity and the sympathetic resonance, string length, bloom and inertia sliders also enable notes to flow into and play off each other like ripples in a pool. The result for me is a piece that has no absolute external tempo, the tempo emerges and changes depending on the interactions between each note and expression in the playing.

But I think I can take this even further so might post some more attempts.
