All of my compositions are not forbidding electronic Abstract Expressionist creations that are difficult to listen to, or worse. I'm "paper trained" (Northwestern University School of Music), and compose a lot of classical music (Finale, Reaper, AA).

"Three Studies on American Folksongs" is informed by early to mid 20th century Social Realism and Populism. Think Copland, Virgil Thomson, and Persichetti.

The first study uses the traditional song "Wild Hog in the Woods". The second study employs the traditional song "The Rolling Mills are Burning Down", the hymn "How Firm a Foundation", and the old fiddle tune "Altamont". The third study explores the folksong "Been All Around This World".

Organic Chemistry research for evil Big Pharma is just a day job.
