I have been swept by the recent rise of future house and have been trying to produce in the genre.
This is one of my attempts (without any mastering) and I am looking for any feedback (positive or especially negative!) that would help me improve this track and bring up my production standards.
I created it alongside the acapella from Hook N Sling and Chris Willis' Magnet.
Thanks so much!

First thing to get this more "modern sounding" is to shorten your drum samples, try cutting off a lot of releases you have here and see everything open up.
Try to mix your tune with low pass at ~180-250 Hz on master. You'll be able to evaluate if you have to much weight going on all the time (which you have I think).
Best of luck!

I love music, worked with a number of music/rhythm/dance games like Pump It Up, In The Groove, Cytus and Deemo, and teach music production.

Shortening my drum samples (especially the snare) has made a huge difference, track definitely sounds a lot clearer and even bigger now! thank you for the feedbackVospi wrote:First thing to get this more "modern sounding" is to shorten your drum samples, try cutting off a lot of releases you have here and see everything open up.
