I like the sound of the viola. It seems to have a little more "meat" than a violin, which imho, makes it more suitable for these solo performances. The additional lower end fills out the sound in a more satisfying may. Another good job with the mix and master.
Good work

I think the "meat" doesn´t lead to a more suitable solo performance.
It´s just a matter of taste
And SOUND !
Every violin player has a unique sound, so it doesn´t fit everyone´s taste.
Also it´s a matter of composition, meaning the layers of frequencies (individual instruments) can form a bigger sound.
One have just to listen to the old masters and their string ensembles.
Like in pop music and every genre it´s the arrangement what makes a piece "round".
Watch out for the compilation

Yeah. I didn't phrase that very well. I was trying to say that I prefer the sound of the viola, certainly in a more contemporary solo setting. The lower notes have a more mournful, richer sound, imho.

If you´re phrasing it that way you´re of course right Timseismic1 wrote:Yeah. I didn't phrase that very well. I was trying to say that I prefer the sound of the viola, certainly in a more contemporary solo setting. The lower notes have a more mournful, richer sound, imho.

This was a real joy. I liked the strong Celtic/Nordic flavour in the composition
and the sound and performance was perfect.
Cheers
