A remix I made some time ago of one of my favourite SID tunes.
The orchestral sounds are the IK Multimedia Miroslav Vitous, the bass etc are VST, all organic-y sounds are recordings I made at the smithy of my old school.
The kick drum is the 100 kilo trip hammer in the background of the pic overlaid with a normal kick.
There's also some bowed glass recordings, also the short gated synth is built from that.

A very good mix, I used to love this game back in the day, even though it was hard.
The track builds nicely and comes to life at about 4 min where the rhythm track takes off.
On the downside, sounds are a little too GM for my liking, I would have used a fatter string lead for example.

Yes the Vitous samples are not the best.... OTOH I dont't like strings ensemble sounds, so actually what I would need is a good solo violin, but that in VST... I think I'll just need to forget that
