[NO! I have heard them, I just looked on youtube and I saw a John Petrucci world greatest guitar solo video and I am sure I clicked on that one time. I would definitely have heard of the band because I have heard of the guitarist]

If it wasn't for KVR references to his NAMM /Omnisphere videos, I would have never heard a note of his music, at least not knowingly. What I know about him I only know from KVR. However, I have very little interest in progressive rock and the interest that I do have extends only to specific bands from the 70s, e.g., Jethro Tull. I have even less interest in metal and couldn't tell you much of anything about the genre. Put those two together and you have recipe for super disinterest on my part. I'm serious when I say that I'd probably rather listen to some old-timey polka.

If I listened to those songs it might destroy the magic as Mr Rudess is a godlike figure from the depths of early KVR (ok, c2004). It would be like meeting Buddha in the chippy and discovering he's actually a bit of an arse.
