It would be really cool if instead of UVi Workstation there was a Falcon Player that wouldn't break song loading if one decides to upgrade to Falcon Full. Sort of like what Kontakt Player is to Kontakt.

otristan: Is everything that was in V1 also available in V2 or do we have to have both installed to get all the synths? In the list of synth on the Synth Anthology 2 page it doesn't seem to list a lots of synths featured in Synth Anthology 1 (e.g. just comparing the first two manufactures there's no sign of the Roland SH101 & JD990, Yamaha CS60, CS15, CS40-M, CS70M, DX1, TX816 )

@woodsdenis Will have to check with the sound designers tomorrow regarding percentage of new sample material.
Still, using the new architecture and FX, it allows to go way further than SA1 even with the same sounds.
@2020 it's tricky as we have released UVIWorkstation way before so it would break other people stuff but I do get your point. Still for me Falcon is a full blow synth/sampler that happens to run UVI soundbank. Not an UVIWorkstation pro but I can understand people seeing it like that as well
@srcodling
The upgrade is only for Synth Anthology and Synth legacy (Guitar center exclusive) owners.
VV and SA2 are totally different product.
VV goes deep into machine while SA2 allows access to a wide variety of synthesis types very quickly.
People would say bread and butter synth sound.
@mcbpete Everything that was in SA1 is in SA2 but using a different synth topology.
So if you want to keep sounds the way there were sounding, you need to keep SA1 around.
Same goes if you want to reload your song back.
It can be annoying but it has allowed us to go further in this version 2.

I do get that, and it's not much of a hassle to run UVIWorkstation in parallell, should I decide to get Falcon.otristan wrote:it's tricky as we have released UVIWorkstation way before so it would break other people stuff but I do get your point. Still, it seems like the kind of thing that would drive Falcon sales, and mean less maintenance for you guys.
In any way, thanks for these awesome tools.

Synth Legacy upgrade path is not retroactive so you need to have bought Synth Legacy before SA2 release in order to have access to itNumanoid wrote:So a user can now buy Synth Legacy at $50 and then upgrade to Synth Anthology II for $49 instead of $99 ?otristan wrote:The upgrade is only for ... So that would be like getting 2 products for the price of 1

Take that with a pinch of salt, these are heavily cut down versions compared to the full versions.New effects Sparkverb, Thorus, Phasor, Dual Delay and Redux

If you don't mind a generic UI, you can access all parameters in the FX tab of UVIWorkstation.Numanoid wrote:Take that with a pinch of salt, these are heavily cut down versions compared to the full versions.New effects Sparkverb, Thorus, Phasor, Dual Delay and Redux

I was kind of hoping getting the GUIs of those plugs included in SAII, it means a lot of the hands on experience, when tweakingotristan wrote:If you don't mind a generic UI, you can access all parameters in the FX tab of UVIWorkstation.

@Numanoid
It's always a compromise between features and cluttered UI. SA2 interface principle is mostly KISS.
If you take those 4 FX with all their parameters, you probably add around 50 parameters

As a bread and butter sound pool I would say this should make anyone happy
But users should remember the specs required:
"4GB RAM (8 GB+ highly recommended for large UVI Soundbanks)"
I am on 8GB (i5) and playing a three finger chord can bring the CPU up to 40% on some of the patches.
