There's no Mac version.

RMV and Guru and really nice, although they might be more feature-rich than you need.

Yes, Reaktor has some good ensembles for this.

Guru offers the most flexibility as to what you can do with the beats, such as nudging them forward or back dynamically, reversing them etc. But it decides how to cut stuff up, which doesn't always work quite the way you want (although you have a lot of editing power when trimming the samples). RMV is a little idiosyncratic but good for interspersing chopped up beats with other drum sounds.

Reaktor has some amazing, out-there beat manglers. I thoroughly recommend L3 in the factory set and there are plenty of good user ensembles.

Also, NI's Kontakt has beat slicing built in. It offers a lot of power if not the most intuitive way of working. But, if you already have Kontakt, it's a great choice.

And hours of fun can be had with the sample chopping you can do on the fly in a tracker such as Renoise: this can be Rewired into a regular sequencer.

There is a tutorial on using Logic and EXS24 for beat slicing on the web if you are using that. And Ableton Live has good support for beat slicing.

I'd like to see Liveslice on OS X as there are some neat functions in it (although more experience with Guru will probably cure me of that). And you can't have everything.

Knowing MaxMSP users have made some real good pluggo's it might be worth checking out if you can find a (usually free) pluggo. I know that on the MAC version 9 of Logic is a damned fuckin awesome beatslicer (amongst other things! :hihi: ) but i am not suggesting that you change host of course  I use PC myself but regular use MAC also so i know a little but not alot. Sorry i can't be anymore helpful

all the best in finding a beatslicer that works for your needs :D

Nekro/Dean

Oh just remembered this one, might be worth demoing as iZotope demo's are not crippled for a certain period (which is cool) -

I just tried Geist2, and it's not even close to what Logic 9 can do.
LiveSlice's download page says "error 404" so can't evaluate.

Finding something that works well for both PC and Mac seems difficult.
Finding something that works well at all seems difficult.

for a real-time loop slicer/shuffler for Drum loops there is Supa-Trigga
http://bram.smartelectronix.com/plugins.php?id=6

and MDSP's Livecut shuffles too
http://mdsp.smartelectronix.com/livecut/

the Mac versions are 32 bit plugins though, so you'll need Sound-radix's "32 bit lives"
http://www.soundradix.com/products/32-lives/

and you'll need to assign their outputs to record live on an audio track cuz
its kinda of a random thing it never does the exact same thing twice

there is also FXpansion's Geist it chops and automatically assign the slices to a MPC drum pad looking thing version 2 has way more pads
If your plugin is a Synth-edit/synth-maker creation, Say So.
If not Make a Mac version of your Plugins Please.
