I wonder if the sequencer does all the stuff the custom retrofit UC-1 Pro One sequencer did..?

Nope, we haven't had that... the sequencer in Repro-1 is however a good deal more capable than the original one. It's much like Hive's with two sequences and Velocity support.beely wrote:Quote of the week, for me!Urs wrote:That said, we've studied the shit out of this thing. I think your assessment is influenced by stuff other than sound quality.Cinebient wrote:Yes, but that says nothing before we can use it in real. I still find the Moog Model 15 app (yeah i know it's another beast) to have a raw power which none of the desktop plug-ins offer.Urs wrote:The Pro-One came on the market 11 years after the Arp 2600. I hope Repro-1 can change this.

And why do you think that? You think Model 15 has no good sound quality? For me it has
Sure it has and of course Repro-1 too.
I mean it seems to be a personal flavour of course.

At this point I'm almost extra glad that all this won't clutter up your proper repro-1 thread, Urs!

The Model 15 has good sound quality. I think it is not as good as say Reaktor Blocks though.Cinebient wrote:And why do you think that? (maybe you are right)pdxindy wrote:

Agreed. For starters, it doesn't run at 96k.pdxindy wrote:The Model 15 has good sound quality. I think it is not as good as say Reaktor Blocks though.

Well, there is not much to talk about regarding RePro-1 since it is not publicly available yet.Taron wrote:At this point I'm almost extra glad that all this won't clutter up your proper repro-1 thread, Urs!
I'm sitting here playing it this morning. It sounds great, has lots of character and zest without digital harsh and is easy to use. I can imagine making whole compositions just with RePro-1 even though it is a mono synth.

I don't know if that's possible maybe when using an audio device which offers that.EvilDragon wrote:Agreed. For starters, it doesn't run at 96k.pdxindy wrote:The Model 15 has good sound quality. I think it is not as good as say Reaktor Blocks though.
However, it has a ton of tricks included (beside sound quality), especially for performence and having 96k is not important for me anyway.
Model 15 is polyphonic (4 voice) on top (MPE mode too).
I don't own Reaktor but i love a few synths from it like Prism.
I would love to own it but i'm too scared my computer (and i) couldn't handle it

All the better, if we get all this out of our system now then, hehehe.pdxindy wrote:Well, there is not much to talk about regarding RePro-1 since it is not publicly available yet.Taron wrote:At this point I'm almost extra glad that all this won't clutter up your proper repro-1 thread, Urs!
Again, I'm very curious, too. I must say, though, after months and months of making OSC tracks again, I have to relearn to be picky about the finer qualities of a beautiful synth. If something will make a big difference to me, it's "organic" expressiveness, something that has the spectrum and range to project what I wish to express.pdxindy wrote: I'm sitting here playing it this morning. Most synths fall apart in one way or another on exactly that quest, revealing a stale nature or some sort of acoustic instability.
I have already started writing my own first vst and went straight for entirely procedural waveforms, which has amazing power in terms of range and consistency, but filter programming is very, very tricky. I'm quite stunned by the subtle complexity of Urs' filters, very alive, very rich. I wished I could get a slice of that, haha, and see if I can make those musically more active for such things as keeping the resonance tuned, tracking with the note frequencies just the way I have it in mine, but beyond that mine just suck! ...well, they are simply ridiculous compared to the glorious character of anything from Urs, I'm afraid.
Anyway, yeah, I am really looking forward to playing around with the first version of repro-1 I can get my hands on!

No you can't put your hands on it. You can't touch it. No touchy, no feely, no grabby. You can't touch this. Only looky and heary. Maybe poke it with your mouse.Taron wrote:Anyway, yeah, I am really looking forward to playing around with the first version of repro-1 I can get my hands on!
