Hi Guys newbie here:)
I've tried a Zillion times to recreate that bass synth but at the end it sounds completely shitty
I Know it's almost a classic sound,a simple Saw/Pluck type bass probably you can get from any softsynth but can't.
I've tried the famous Short Seq Preset from FM8 but it's not it and when i start to messing around with the patch it doesn't come close at all. Also tried with Serum(Saw+ Sine/Trin.+ Lowpass+HighPass)and i didn't have any success! Againnn!.

If You can help let me know.

It's close but not it's not quite there how did you make it/process it?

2 saw waves with the attack taken off and a little release, sync the saw waves and compression and also put it into unison mode on the synth... I used the es2 synth in logic, it's really difficult without knowing the original synth used, try and track down the artist or contact the label he's signed to and get them to pass on your email.

It's indeed a plucked saw type of bass that's used in that specific track. I tried to recreate it as well and managed to get a pretty decent result: https://clyp.it/c0nxzip2

I used Serum for the synthesis of it. I basically just took a Minimoog-based saw wave in one of the oscilators and enabled the sub oscilator as well. I sent both through the low-pass filter with a relatively short envelope on the cutoff frequency to get a more plucked sound. I also adjusted the main envelope on the output amp by ear and I used a bit of Serum's inboard distortion fx, just to give it a little more character. That's basically it for the synthesis, which is not that complicated in this case. If you're interested, here's the Serum patch I've made for this: https://www.dropbox.com/s/ncpevdcmmcvy0 ... s.fxp?dl=0

After that, I started processing it, beginning with some subtle EQ adjustments (taking out a bit of low end and mid, emphasising some of the the highs). Then I added the 'Renaissance Bass' from Waves to add a bit of harmonics to the sub frequencies, which gave it a bit more warmth. Then I added some very subtle compression and very light distortion, and to finish it off I added the CLA Vocal plugin (also from Waves) in it's default state and reduced only the fx on it. I know it's originally meant to process vocals, but used it just because it worked. It gave it some extra warmth and complemented it's character.

So that's basically it for the design of my bass recreation. It's fairly simple. And while it (of course) doesn't sound exactly the same as the original, it should give an idea on how to make it yourself. I also added a generic kick and clap just to give it some context.
I hope this was helpful.
