Hi guys,

Any idea where to find some good keyboard solo techniques or online lessons for synth and organ?
I'm specially thinking about the better finger work like this

Wow, watching the world go round. Watching time. In my day you had to read these things called books. They were usually church music books. It was a long slow process. Before that you had to actually pay good money to learn this stuff, which had been handed down secret society like.

In my experience, learning how to use pitchbend, modwheel and aftertouch effectively while playing is also very important

Learn Tony Banks solos (genesis) listen to Jem Godfrey (frost)

And practice every scale in every key over and over every day.

Finally a genre for which Hanon is a useful practice guide.

Either that or practice a bunch of Bach pieces and keep pushing up the tempo.

Jordan Rudess made some good (unfortunately payware) tutorials for ask.video and/or groove3 /and/or macProvideo I think.

You see the ring he is wearing?
:hihi:

Seriously, it takes a long time of practicing to be that good. I suggest the tutorial I'm learning from:
http://www.emediamusic.com/keyboard-pia ... ethod.html

You can find it cheaper in JRR Shop:
https://www.jrrshop.com/computer-softwa ... ad-license

There is also the second level (intermediate) which I haven't started yet (I'm in the last third of tutorial 1). When your piano skills begin to increase, keyboard playing automatically will be easier. The good thing is you will learn very good practices.

While you are learning, you will come to music pieces to memorize, then you would need to playing them again and again till you feel comfortable playing them. With time, you would know which one is in your level and which one is not.

If you want to take it further (or parallel learning), there is also EarMaster from the same company (e-media) which is training for your ear (I think it is free in iPad), anyway i have it on both PC and iPad. Fantastic program and challenging!

There are also many cheap books in Amazon (kindle format). Hanon exercises, Scales ...etc. Like these:
https://www.amazon.com/Hanon-Virtuoso-E ... 0793525446
and
https://www.amazon.com/Scales-Chords-Ar ... 9CGGPKTEC0

The keytar for me is just cosmetic really, you could do the same with normal keyboard with mod/pitch wheels! Anyway, girls might find it sexy :hihi:
