OLD AKAI Samples Problem

You should be able to mount them in a virtual drive and then read them inside Kontakt, but not all virtual drive programs can mount "unreadable" filesystems. I think Virtual CloneDrive can.

When you say you have bin files, do you also have the cue files? You might need those to get the virtual drive to recognise the images. If you don't you can always create them. They should be fairly generic.

you'll need the cue file.. without hitting the google machine, the bin file contains the data and the cue file is the index - going back when I did burn a lot of CD's (flashback to also bulk copying blank tapes) and using Nero, before ISO files became the norm, you'd need to have both to burn a successful image.

My first step when nothing reads an Akai 1000 or 3000 disk in .bin/cue form is to convert to .iso. The best program for this is called bin2iso 2.0 free here:

If CD Xtract can't read that .iso, then burn it to cd and let cd xtract or Kontakt read it. Just for the heck of it, what is the title of the CD? Is it in 1000, 3000, 5000 or 6000 format?
