So this EZKeys Classic Electrics is not only an expansion but can be run on it's own (without needing the original EZKeys installed)?
Yeah, it is the full plugin. Each one you buy is 'full' what you get is a shell that will load whatever libraries you own, they load rather fast, I have the Grand Piano, these electric pianos, and the Mellotron. They are all totally serviceable as sound modules as well as for the midi bits, but the midi bits are what sets it apart definitely.

Damn I missed the Classic Electrics sale. I didn't realise it was a 1-day thing and left it too late.

Oh well, I'm sure there'll be a flood of them in the Marketplace for 20 Euros over the sale price

Keeping an eye on this proper now:

It's been a while since I've used EZKeys...

What you said would be really great. I thought as soon as you chose another MIDi style in the browser, it wiped out your current chord progression and took on the chords from the new selection? Thus not being able to apply your chords to another MIDI part??
If "Use Browser Midi" is *not* toggled on, then any midi clip you drag from the browser into an empty space in the main play area, will consist of articulations playing that broswer clip's embedded chords.

But if you

a) select a midi clip that's already in the play area (it will already have chords and some articulation), then

b) toggle on "Use Browser Midi," and then

c) select a style from the browser (just click on it, don't press the little gray Play button next to a midi pattern in the browser)

then the midi clip that's already in the play area will keep its original chords, but will take on (only) the articulations of the the style you choose in the browser.

That's the name of the game, man! If you gave up your chord sequences whenever you chose an articulation, EZKeys would be super limited. Basically EZKeys is like having loads of (tweakable) "costumes" for your chord progressions.

You can get it as an expansion at less than half price, if you already have an EZ Keys instrument.

I hope so, more than £100 in regular price for a Solina instrument is a lot

Very true. Checked out that Dreamy Pop expansion and I like the chord progressions. Now I've only got one serial left :(
