Anyone here use iZotope Breaktweaker? Cause im in need of some assistance!

I just purchased it (there was a nice sale!) and i dont understand one thing:

Once you create a pattern, how does it get into a midi track in my DAW (im using Live 9)?

Or, heck, how can i route each of the 6 tracks to 6 audio tracks?

When i preview it, its fine. Im diggin what i created, but how does it actually get into a track?

I dont see any sort of export or anything. When i hit record, nothing gets recorded or even plays from Breaktweaker.

Again, im still new to it. Ive watched a few videos on Youtube, but theyre all about creating patterns and editing patterns, not how patterns actually get recorded.

Thanks in advance, guys/gals!

From the MANUAL(page 17):

PLAYING PATTERNS
There are 24 available patterns in BreakTweaker. Each pattern is assigned to a MIDI
note from C2 through B3. Playing one of these notes into BreakTweaker will cause the
pattern associated with that MIDI note to start playing.

From the MANUAL(page 57):

ABLETON LIVE
1. Insert BreakTweaker on a MIDI track.
2. Create one to six new Audio tracks to receive the BreakTweaker audio.
3. Turn on the I/O display to view the input/output assignments.
4. Set the Audio From menu to the instance of iZotope BreakTweaker
(1-iZotope BreakTweaker).
5. Set the next menu down to the BreakTweaker track output you wish
to receive on this track. The track numbers are offset by 1 number, so
Track 1 in BreakTweaker is listed as 2-iZotope BreakTweaker.
6. Set the Monitor mode to “In”.
7. Set BreakTweaker’s track outputs to the configuration you wish to have.
You may have each track output to its own DAW track or combine
multiple tracks in BreakTweaker into one track in your DAW.

ok that helps alot.

but now, setting up the audio track, the moment i hit, say C1, nothing happens.

then, if i remove the audio track, i STILL cant do anything in Breaktweaker.

not only that, but this damn VSTi CRUSHES my cpu meter!!

SOOOO frustrating. im thinking i wasted money...

Don't hit c1.
hit c2->b3.
If you are triggering from a keyboard you'll need the track record armed. Or you could just draw in the midi note which triggers your pattern(s)

Also, make sure you have the Tempo (at bottom of GUI) set to Sync, then your BT patterns will sync to your DAW tempo. Otherwise the patterns play at their own tempo.

As for the high CPU drain - that's part of the magical charm of BT!

But, every pattern is different - some may kill your CPU, and others will play just fine. It's a very powerful performer that lets you take it to the edge and beyond, but all that goodness costs (due to rather poor code optimization, IMO). Luckily, many of the costlier preset patterns are marked with a warning (not a bad idea for your own patterns too!). You may need to use a little track-freezing on those CPU intensive tracks.

All the best!

It is, in my experience, usual the inbuilt synth that causes the high CPU load.
If you reduce the release on the synth/s it helps.

Good stuff here. :tu: I only have it/use it for the micro-editor, and synthesis functions, but it's an awesome tool.
I'm not a musician, but I've designed sounds that others use to make music. http://soundcloud.com/obsidiananvil
