Seemed like this one needed its own dedicated thread. For a pretty long time I looked for a hardware wavetable instrument. Most, that I liked were either too big (61 key monsters) or too expensive, or not much better than many plug ins. I gave up and figured it was software for me, until this one turned up. For $283, I thought, "how could I go wrong?" Well, now that it's in my grubby little hands, I have to say that I'm very pleasantly surprised. I can't wait to see what it does once I fill its user wavetable slots. It's a keeper.

Internally I have no idea, but it's fairly basic. 9v DC in, MIDI in and out, USB (only for firmware and wavetable installation) and a pair of 1/4" stereo outputs.

So not only mustard from Dijon :o :tu:
Audiothingies is a brand name owned by the company MCDA.
MCDA is a one-man company. It was founded in 2014 by Samuel Montassier and is based in France, in the beautiful city of Dijon.
In fact, if you're familiar with Audiothingies P6 (now discontinued), Samuel assures us that Micromonsta shares about 99% of the same sound, but with 2 more voices and wavetable support

OK, the Micromonsta gets rave reviews from users.

Specs ?

Dynamic wavetables, half of which are for user-created ones. 3 LFOs, 3 EGs, Multimode Filter, Arp, mod matrix with plenty of destinations, 200 presets, 300 preset slots and a simple to use interface.

2 can be chained for 16-voice polyphony and yes the master controls the slave device when editing and/or switching presets

Now I'm hesitating between it and a second hand Waldorf Pulse 2. I have a feeling that the Pulse is the way to go, but the Micromonsta gets so much good feedback (sounding fatter than a Prophet 6, for instance), that it's hard to choose.

I picked one of these up last week and have been having a lot of fun with it.. it's not getting as much use since I picked up a Pittsburgh Lifeforms SV-1 blackbox at the same time and have really been diving into that but the Micromonsta sounds really good. I do with the case was metal as the plastic box feels a little flimsy but I guess I'm comparing it to the Evolver and Blofeld which are built like tanks..

But how do they manage to stay one step ahead of the copyright police ?

I actually accidentally called it the Minimonsta when I emailed him clarifying what kind of power supply I'd need for it ahahah, he corrected me with a wink.

Anyways, it's a great synth.. I'd be happy to record some sounds if anyone wants to hear anything in particular..

I have one and totally love it.
Batteries and a live sequencer would make it perfect.
