That's just crazy, Touched Vol 3

Back in the day it would have been a 40xCD compilation, and all for just £15

https://touched.bandcamp.com/album/touched-3

It can be downloaded as WAV/AIFF, at 29.8 GB

Hey Numanoid... yes a lot of tracks. I was the main mastering engineer on this project :) I mastered around 120 or so of them. There's loads of tracks I still haven't even heard yet lol.

Just bought it, and I settled for the 5.2GB 320kbps download.

I don't have bandwidht for 30GB.

Now I just need to clean out space on my mobile device to be able to fit it all on.

So many exclusive tracks on this, thanks a lot for such a total no-brainer

Total timing is: 37 hours 33 minutes and 7 seconds :borg:

IMO the included Autechre track is better than most on their recent 5 EP release.

A beautiful ambient like track, reminds me of their EP's in the 90's

Even crazier is the entire One Synth Challenge catalog. The one for the Tunefish synth alone has 23 tracks and that probably is the average. OSC is at #89 now. So that's 88 x 23 = 2024 tracks. And all free.

But in terms of content, I don't know. Have to listen to the OSC content and the Touched 3 content to really compare, I guess.

So no proceeds to charity?

One of the reasons for buying into Touched is that they support cancer research.

According to FSOL, Touched 3 is the final volume?

Yes. The tracks in the OSC are free to download and so no cash is generated to be donated to a good cause, as far as I know.
So, the good-deed reason is absent for us downloaders? The only reasons I can think of for downloading the tracks at OSC are:

1. to check out the content of the tunes, and perhaps get enjoyment out of it, and be educated in the ways of tunes creation
2. to be made aware of "better" free synths
3. to get an idea what people are voting into first place (tune creator winner)

If it hasn't got it (maybe I just didn't see it), I guess the OSC could install a Donate function to the site if it wants to.

The guy who organises them - the Touched label founder - Martin Boulton (aka Min-Y-Llan) is taking a break from the Touched compilations - it's a mammoth task to put these together as you might imagine.

Does this compilation have some theme behind it?
How old are some of these songs?

Holy smokes, that's a big album!
My solo projects:
Hekkräiser (experimental) | MFG38 (electronic/soundtrack) | The Santtu Pesonen Project (metal/prog)

To get my head around I try to break it up into artists I know from before, and labels.

So there is an Artificial Intelligence/Old Skool Warp reunion album in there with Autechre, B12, Bola, Brothomstates, Plaid, RH Kirk and Seefeel :)

There are also clusters of Merck, Plug Research, Planet Mu, Rephlex, City Centre Offices related artists

No doubt this will end up along the best releases in my year end list.

All the familiar faces deliver good stuff, but peeps I didn't except anything from deliver even more

Casino VS Japan's Led Away is just pure ambient heaven, and it doesn't get more proper Detroit tech than John Tejada's imagine iF

This album is on offer for £10 this weekend, reduced from £15. Great way to donate to a good cause.
