Just been looking through the Orchestral Library on Kontakt Factory Library and found a folder named "Legacy VSL Instruments".

Are these different to the orchestral patches in Kontakt?

Can you do something with these patches that is different to the others?

Basically they are non-pretty versions of the orchestral stuff in the regular library. However there are some that have release samples that don't seem to be in the newer instruments, along with some legato instruments, some that use the modwheel for volume control. Also if you just want one articulation on a track at a time and don't need the fancy interface, they are useful.

Thanks for that .. Been rearranging my quickload folders - which has turned out to be a massive task. But, it's actually been very valuable experience in order to recognise what I've hoarded away over the years....

I know the feeling...

I'd keep at least the legato french horns and legato flute from the legacy folder in your quickload as these offer something the newer versions don't...scripted legato.

Might be my setup - but do the legato patches 'stick' some times?
