Yeah it's not like I am ignoring the recommendations. I have made a list and check them out one by one.
I am thankful for every recommendation or warning.

I don't think anyone mentioned Cinesamples Cinesymphony LITE. It has a limited range of articulations, but it might meet your needs.

In a broader sense, I'm not convinced that any single product will meet your needs if you're planning on doing more elaborate orchestration. But it probably is good to start with something fairly comprehensive so that you at least have something to work with for all of the major orchestra sections.

I already had a look at cinesamples cinesymphony lite and it lacks of some things I think I would miss.
It has no legato, only 1/8 notes, no adsr envelope, only one mic position and no own reverb/fx section.
@Bigcat I will have a look at these..

Cine Symphony Lite is now 100$ off, for everyone interested. It's on my list with Ableton One and GPO 5.

Hey guys! Still thinking about what library to get first, at the moment my short list is VSL Special Edition Volume 1 vs. cinesymphony lite.
While cinesymphony lite has a bit "bigger" sound to me and the interface is also more appealing, VSL has lot more content in case of instruments and articulations.
But on the other side there are nearly 0 demos on youtube, and the demos on the website not really show of the percussion for example while I know, that these in cinesymphony lite are great.

VSL would me my option between these two. Originally, it is dry, but that makes it more versatile, since you can create the kind of orchestral sound you want by using processors, That's not the case of Cinesymphony, which is, right from the beginning, recorded with that "cinematic" sound.Foxedge wrote:Hey guys! But I would need a good reverb plugin for VSL right? Cinesymphony Lite has integrated Reverb SFX you can turn off or use as much as you want. Could I get the big "Hollywood Sound" out of VSL with the right tweaking or will it always be more classic?

You can get that sound, if you know how to pan, eq and use reverbs, so it sounds like a real orchestra.Foxedge wrote:But I would need a good reverb plugin for VSL right? Which is why many people prefer already processed libraries for cinematic sounds.

I don't know what you already have, but I think these effects are quite nice for the price of free...

Project Sams OE can be used with the free kontakt player, but it has no solo instruments and I read that some of the effects in the patches are already overused and heard everywhere.
