Just finished this simple tune today "Into the Maze", heavily inspired by Tangerine Dream, not only their sounds (track 1 through 4), plus their style. As can clearly be seen in the video, I use Reaper DAW.
Please let me know what you think. Constructive criticism is most appreciated!

Also please check my YouTube channel for almost 70 original synthesizer tunes, mostly inspired form Jean-Michel Jarre, Tangerine Dream, Vangelis, and Kraftwerk.

Here is a remix, with three tracks added, bass, back, and SFX 2.
I still like both versions.

I listened to the original version. It is pleasant and relaxing. It doesn't sound that much like Tangerine Dream but that's not a bad thing.
I really don't that irritating Gong A sound.
My suggestion would be to try to make the piece sound as if it's going somewhere by increasing tension, adding significantly to the arrangement, chord changes, etc.

Thanks for your comments. I highly suggest you try to listen to the remixed version, as it addresses some of your comments about change.
Anyways I had something else comment on that on another board that they think it sounds like TD from the late 80's and early 90's. Off course the period should be taking into consideration, as they have made albums from 1968 to today, and their 100+ albums, including live albums, range spans from the psycadelic, to avanatgarde, rock, electronica, ambient, and even disco! I listened to all their works over the past 30+ years, and I think my remixed composition sounds exactly like one of the 2000's remixed compilation albums by Edgar and Jeremy Froese.
