It always happens with the mouse for me. Never noticed it with quick controls on my MIDI controller. Guess I will file a bug report to Steinberg.SJ_Digriz wrote:That's odd, I use it almost every day and have never had it crash. I do use a controller though. So I rarely use the mouse to do things.

Just submitted a support request with Steinberg. I was adjusting Sync on OSC1 with the mouse for this crash dump. I will update when I get this resolved or there is news from Steinberg.

Retrologue 2 never crashed in Cubase Pro 8.5 at me.
Is this a repeatable bug or just happens when you move the knobs using the mouse only?

Always happens when using the knobs with the mouse. I can repeat it within ~5-10 minutes of twiddling most of the time. This only happens in Retrologue, none of my other plugins have the same behavior.tripleflows wrote:Retrologue 2 never crashed in Cubase Pro 8.5 at me.

I had the crashing when moving knobs when using Retrologue in Logic. Steinberg instructed me to install the following. It seemed to do the trick.

This is with Retrologue 1 in Bitwig. Just browsing the first presets!
Retrologue 2 demo is not even showing in Bitwig (and crashes Reaper) all are 64bit versions in Windows 10 64bit.
I suspect the latest updates of Windows has broken something with Retrologue as Padshop pro still working fine with me.
Anyway, too much instability with both Retrologue and Cubase Elements 8 (latest update, which Retrologue 2 crashes it!!). I gave up. I have uninstalled both and just kept Padshop pro. I'm glad I haven't invested more in Cubase upgrade

Cubase itself is pretty stable for me. Its just Retrologue 2 that is giving me problems! 8.0 and 8.5 didn't crash for me a single time otherwise.EnGee wrote:This is with Retrologue 1 in Bitwig. Just browsing the first presets!

I have had issues with several VST plugins in Bitwig due to it handling parts of the VST specification slightly differently than other hosts. Due to the ambiguous nature of the standard they are not necessarily wrong in how they implemented it.
I am guessing that Retrologue is VST3 only, meaning it won't show up in Bitwig. I also know many other people have had issues with Steinberg plugins in Bitwig so you are not alone there.

Yes, you are right. Retrologue 2 is VST3 only so that it doesn't show in Bitwig. It crashes Reaper 64bit and Cubase Elements 64bit though!Voice303 wrote:Cubase itself is pretty stable for me. Great! Now, Padshop Pro also crashes Bitwig!
I have tried for the last time. I uninstalled everything related to Steinberg (including the e-licenser) and deleted whatever I find in the disk (included the hidden folders of appdata crap), then installed the software and then installed the latest e-licenser. The same shit
Luckly, Waldorf Largo is not affected and it is working fine without any error
Nah! I had added Cakewalk to my black list in the past and now Steinberg. I have uninstalled everything Steinberg except the e-licenser because I need it for Largo to function.
I have no problem at all with NI, u-he, Waves, Arturia, Dune 2, Synthmaster, ..etc. All are working great in Bitwig. I will be fine without Steinberg, so Goodbye Steinberg

Does any developer dare offer a VST3-only plugin? I doubt it as long as VST2 is the standard...
It would be like selling 64-bit only plugins...

Not here... in fact it doesn't seem to have installed the VST2 at all, when installing Retrologue, otherwise it would show up in the plugin manager of Cubase Elements too. I installed it a couple of times now, and it always was the same. VST3 only install.tripleflows wrote: On Windows, the location of the VST2 version of Retrologue 1 or 2 can be found here:

Not much talk about this synth anymore, but... I wonder if anyone noticed that since version 2, when you use oscillator unison, there's some weird harsh attack transient, which wasn't there in version 1. I'll try to make a demo later, if Steinberg lets you demo version 2 (I only have a license for version 1), but, you can compare it to Sylenth1, or any other synth which has unison on oscillator level (Spire for example), and you will notice that there's something going on in Retrologue which isn't in other synths.
