AquesTone2 is very good for that kind of stuff.

Needs a bit of familiarizing before you get the results you want, but once youve figured out how everything works together you can make aaahhs and ooohhs that sound extremely good, even realistic to a certain degree.

Heres a short audio demonstration: click

Only AquesTone2 with some reverb.

See You was recorded during November '81

Did they have access to a PPG Wave that early? I thought Mute was kind of skint at that start up time.

Its actually Martin Gore (poss Dave too) sampled. Could have been a Fairlight or Emulator... ?

Post

Vince Clarke didn't furbish Blackwing with a Fairlight CMI before late '82 the earlist, one year after See You was recorded

I also find it unlikely that Blackwing was among the first studios to get an Emulator, just released in '81

If not a string synth like VP330, I bet they probably used some kind of prepared tapes, nothing as fancy as a sampler.

In that case it was prob Martins PPG. I know its def his voice tho.

Yup, I think so too, seeing the setlist during '81 tour, he had in fact a PPG wave 2.0 already then :o

He called it the Fairlite :hihi:
