Hello. I'm having a problem deciding on a vocal processor route to go with. Originally, I was saving up to purchase for myself a Roland VT-3 to use, as I would run a mic through it into my DAW, but just half an hour ago I saw that iZotope has come out with a very delicious looking VST voice manipulator in their own right.

As I mostly work in the box, I was immediately wanting to switch from the VT-3 to Vocalsynth in order to get my cool robot voices and whatnot, but I thought twice because I wasn't sure about the technical side of things, like sound quality or mode versatility between the two products. If anyone has used these voice transforming options and could provide some suggestions as to which way I should lean, that would be seriously appreciated, thank you :3

I never tried the Roland VT-3 one but I tried and just bought the Izotope Vocalsynth. I think Vocalsynth sounds good and easily gets the job done when it comes to the type of sounds I like. Vocalsynth is very versatile due to the many specialized modules it has. Izotope are great at making all-in-one plugins, I'd say they're the best-in-the-business at that and Vocalsynth is another great creation in that regard. A couple of the modules in Vocalsynth are really impressive some are just mediocre but all are useable IMB. The combination of all those modules in one plugin allows for a wide range of electronic-vocals sounds and it's easy to get in the ball park of what you're looking for cause modules are dedicated and the presets.

Vocalsynth has a introductory discount price right now and JRRshop will give you a additional discount if you contact Uncle E. Vocalsynth is relatively-cheap ATM. It's best you download the demo and try for yourself cause forum opinions will vary and forum consensus means nothing when it comes to tools for your specific music. You have to demo the plugin to see if it works for you. I demo'd Vocalsynth and it definitely works for me, and like you I prefer a ITB solution first and foremost.

T2 Icarus is a must. SonicCore SCOPE is the most. As heart of studio it has my vote, cause XITE-1 is all she wrote.
